Antique French Crystal Basket Chandelier with Gilt Brass Gallery
Personally sourced in the South of France, this elegant antique basket-form chandelier captures the timeless romance of French interiors. Richly ornamented with a pierced gilt brass gallery and cascading strands of faceted crystal prisms, the fixture creates remarkable sparkle while maintaining the refined proportions characteristic of early twentieth-century French lighting.
The beautifully detailed brass crown, scrolling foliate ornament, and engraved decorative bands frame dozens of shimmering cut crystals that culminate in elongated spear prisms around the lower basket. Designed for a single candle-style light, the chandelier offers an intimate scale that is ideal for an entryway, powder room, dressing room, breakfast nook, or reading corner.
Its softly aged gilt finish and original patina celebrate decades of history, while the delicate crystal basket remains as captivating today as when it first illuminated a French home.
A timeless statement piece that brings warmth, elegance, and unmistakable European character to any interior. Needs to be rewired to accommodate modern lighting requirements. Circa 1920-1940.
